  • The duo exploded with their debut studio album, 2012's The Heist, which featured the No. 1 single "Thrift Shop."
     
  • Macklemore & Ryan Lewis won their first three career GRAMMYs for 2014, including Best Rap Album for The Heist and Best New Artist. They joined with Madonna and Trombone Shorty to perform a medley of their "Same Love" and her "Open Your Heart," which doubled as a live marriage ceremony for 33 couples.
     
  • Prior to collaborating musically, Ryan Lewis working for Macklemore as a photographer.
     
  • Macklemore & Ryan Lewis appeared at the GRAMMY Museum in 2013 for a conversation about their ascent in the industry.
     
  • In 2014 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis started The 30.30 Project as a fund-raising charity, after Lewis disclosed his mother Julie had been suffering from AIDS/HIV for the last 30 years.
